COVID-19 Vaccination programme- patient update 03 January 2021

We were delighted to hear that the Oxford Astra Zeneca vaccination was approved on 30 December 2020.

For logistical reasons, and as is the case with the Pfizer vaccination, NHS England are rolling it out to Hospital Hubs, Vaccination Centres and Primary Care Network designated sites.

Please do not phone the surgery to enquire- we are very busy with our usual queries so we need to keep the lines free to allow us to continue to support our patients.

We await communication from the government and NHS England on further plans to deliver the vaccination more widely and at other locations. The NHS will let you know when it’s your turn to have the vaccine. It’s important not to contact the NHS for a vaccination before then. You may be contacted by text, letter or phone call.

As more information is released on the vaccination programme and the role Great Staughton Surgery will play in it, we will communicate to patients on this page and in some cases via text.

If we don’t have a valid mobile phone number for you but you would like to receive surgery updates please email your details to [email protected]. Please include your full name, date of birth, and address along with any updated mobile or email contact details.

You can also subscribe to website updates by submitting your email address on the home page of our website.

Official NHS guidance and updates can be found here.

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG provide local updates and information on their page here.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
